Our Philosophy
The Yellow House is a small, highly specialist independent day school located on the Essex/Suffolk border. We cater to students from Year 9 to Year 12 with multiple and complex needs, including Anxiety Disorder, Autism, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and Tourette’s Syndrome.
At The Yellow House School, we create a bespoke education plan for each pupil, nurturing their unique talents and fostering positive change. Our approach combines specialist education with a strong emphasis on personal development, helping students achieve qualifications such as GCSEs and preparing them for further education.
We maintain a careful balance between academic progress and specialist pastoral support. Our comprehensive therapeutic provision is designed to meet the diverse needs of our students, offering targeted interventions to address issues such as anger, anxiety, self-esteem and low mood. We provide foundational Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) interventions that helps students develop healthy coping strategies.
Students at The Yellow House are supported holistically—physically, emotionally, and academically—to ensure they can reach their full potential.
